Service Description

The ANA (Antinuclear Antibodies) Blood Test is used to detect autoantibodies that may be attacking your body's own tissues. These autoantibodies are commonly found in autoimmune conditions such as lupus (SLE), Sjögren’s syndrome, scleroderma, mixed connective tissue disease and others. This test is most often recommended if you are experiencing symptoms like persistent fatigue, joint or muscle pain, skin rashes, low-grade fevers, hair loss or unexplained inflammation. It’s also useful when investigating possible causes of abnormal inflammatory markers or in the context of other autoimmune-related results. A positive ANA result doesn’t confirm a diagnosis but can be a critical first step in understanding your immune activity and guiding further investigation if needed. Who is this test for? - Individuals with symptoms suggestive of autoimmune disease. - People experiencing fatigue, joint pain or skin issues with unclear cause. - Those with a family history of autoimmune conditions. - Anyone with persistently raised CRP, ESR or other inflammatory markers. This test is often used alongside other autoimmune or inflammatory blood tests (e.g. CRP, thyroid antibodies, rheumatoid factor).
