Terms and Conditions
General Terms:

Eligibility: Users must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by a legal guardian. Exceptions may apply for specific blood tests based on regulations.

The Health Lab provides blood‐testing services and delivers raw test data only. The information and materials made available through this service are for informational purposes solely and do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Use of our services does not create a physician–patient or other clinical relationship between you and The Health Lab. You should not interpret any results without first consulting a qualified healthcare professional of your choice.

Identification: You will be required to provide valid photo identification before any blood draws.

Appointments: Appointments are required for all blood tests. Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 48 hours in advance.

Payment: Prepayment through our secure online platform is the preferred method of payment. We may not be able to take cash payments depending on the location of blood draws.

Insurance: We advise checking with your insurance provider regarding coverage for blood tests.

Test Orders: Orders for specific blood tests and blood test packages must be placed through our website. If you opt to add on additional blood tests or blood test packages, please inform the phlebotomist at the beginning of your appointment.

Results: Test results will be emailed to customers within a specified timeframe, which varies depending on the test. All timeframes stated are estimates depending on laboratory function and are not rigid. Agreement to these terms absolves The Health Lab of responsibility for late test results. Anomalies can occur such as inconclusive test results, and as a consequence, results may be delayed. The Health Lab will not be liable for said delays. In some cases, additional sample collection may be required.

All services, reports, and results are provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Results Timeframe: All result timeframes stated are for working days. For example, if a specific blood test or blood test package states results within 24 hours and said test is conducted at 12noon on a Friday, the 24 hour period extends to noon on Monday. All timeframes are estimates only. The Health Lab shall not be liable for any delay or failure to deliver results by email (including delays due to spam filters, incorrect email addresses, or laboratory back-logs).

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Health Lab’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of our services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total fees you have paid for the specific blood test in question. Under no circumstances shall The Health Lab be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages (including, without limitation, lost profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill), even if The Health Lab has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Service Specifics:

Fasting Requirements: Follow any fasting instructions provided for specific blood tests. Failure to do so may affect the accuracy of your results or result in no blood draw.

Medications: Inform us of any medications you are taking, as they may interfere with certain tests.

Medical Conditions: Disclose any relevant medical conditions to ensure safe and appropriate blood collection.

Sample Collection: Phlebotomists are trained professionals who will use sterile equipment and proper procedures for blood collection.

Confidentiality: Your personal information and blood test results will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with Irish data protection laws. Results will only be discussed with the person tested.
Consent:

By agreeing to these terms and conditions, I confirm that all parties being tested have read and accepted the terms and conditions. All parties consent to being tested which involves the collection of an appropriate sample and all parties understand that the results will be sent to the email address associated with this booking.
Responsibility:

You understand that it is your responsibility to follow up with a doctor / general practitioner / medical consultant or health practitioner regarding your results.

You assume complete and full responsibility to take appropriate action with regard to my test results. You will immediately seek medical advice from a healthcare provider if you have questions or concerns.

You acknowledge and agree that it is your sole responsibility to review any test results promptly, to discuss them with a qualified healthcare professional, and to take any necessary medical action. The Health Lab expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for your (or any third party’s) interpretation of, or reliance on, the test results.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Orders cancelled more than 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund.

Orders cancelled within 48 hours will not be refunded.

We will not issue refunds for completed blood draws or tests.

Refunds will be processed within 5 business days of cancellation.

If, for any reason, a blood draw cannot be completed by our phlebotomists you will have the option to reschedule for another time or receive a full refund.
Indemnification:
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Health Lab, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates (collectively, “Indemnitees”) from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

Your use of the services or reliance on the results;

Any breach by you of these Terms;

Any alleged malpractice, misdiagnosis, or personal injury resulting from your handling of the test results.
Force Majeure
The Health Lab shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, epidemics or pandemics, war, terrorism, strikes, governmental regulations, or laboratory equipment failure.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms (together with any policies or documents they incorporate) constitute the entire agreement between you and The Health Lab with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior agreements.
