Service Description

The Advanced Allergy Test is designed for individuals with complex, persistent or unexplained allergy symptoms. This advanced panel measures allergen-specific IgE antibodies in your blood to assess for sensitisation to a wide spectrum of triggers: foods, pollens, pet dander, moulds and environmental allergens. This test is particularly useful when skin prick testing is not feasible, such as when antihistamines are being used, skin conditions are present or there's a risk of anaphylaxis. It is also ideal when previous targeted panels haven’t revealed a likely cause or when multiple sensitivities are suspected. With approximately 29% of people in Ireland living with an allergy, and numbers continuing to rise, this test offers an extensive overview of potential IgE-mediated reactions that may be contributing to symptoms such as rashes, respiratory issues, digestive discomfort or fatigue. A positive result indicates sensitisation, ie. your immune system has produced specific IgE antibodies in response to an allergen. However, not all sensitised individuals experience symptoms, which is why results should always be interpreted alongside your clinical history.
