Menopause & Hormone Health Blood Test
Understand your hormones, ease symptoms and take control through peri-menopause and menopause.
Service Description
This test is designed for women who want to better understand how their hormones may be changing during peri-menopause and menopause. As we move through our 30s, 40s and 50s, hormone levels can begin to shift. This can show up in a number of ways such as changes in energy, sleep, mood, weight, menstrual cycle and overall wellbeing. This blood test looks at key hormones involved in the menopause transition, including FSH, LH and oestradiol, along with additional markers such as thyroid function and prolactin which can also play a role in how you feel. The test also includes general health markers (lipids, kidney and liver function) as well as stress hormones (cortisol and DHEAs) and nutrients (Vitamin D and Vitamin B12). It can help to give a clearer picture of what may be going on internally, particularly if you are experiencing symptoms or noticing changes in your cycle. It is important to note that menopause and peri-menopause are not diagnosed based on a blood test alone. Hormone levels can fluctuate significantly, especially during peri-menopause, so results should always be considered alongside symptoms and overall health. What is included in the test: Full Blood Count including red cells, white cells, platelets and key blood health markers. Liver Health: ALT, ALB, ALP, AST, GGT and Total Bilirubin. Kidney Health & Electrolytes: Creatinine, Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR), Urea, Uric Acid, Sodium, Chloride and Phosphate.
