Why Limerick Chooses The Health Lab
Because it's testing on your terms. No GP referral or waiting list. Fixed, transparent prices on every test. A calm, professional appointment that takes minutes. Fast, clear results you can share with your GP, your coach or nobody at all. That's it.
Athletes and gym members at FIT 100 use regular bloods to track ferritin, hormones and recovery markers through a training block. Others book a yearly check simply to stay ahead of problems. Whatever your reason, being proactive beats waiting for symptoms.
Can't make a Wednesday? Our at home test kits which are delivered anywhere in Limerick, covering hormones, gut health and more. Our Nenagh clinic in Tipperary is also just up the road, running morning clinics from 7:30am; see the locations page for details. And for birthdays or a nudge to a family member who keeps putting it off, a gift card works on any test.
Blood Testing for Training and Performance
Being based inside FIT 100 is no accident. Serious training raises real questions that only bloods can answer: is low ferritin behind that flat feeling in week three of a block, are hormones recovering between cycles, is inflammation trending the wrong way? A Ferritin test or hormone panel before and after a training block turns guesswork into programming decisions, and plenty of coaches at the gym now build testing into their athletes' calendars.
You don't need to be competing to benefit. If you train hard and want to recover properly, your bloods are the most honest coach you'll ever have.
Serving Limerick City and the Mid-West
Clients visit our Ballysimon clinic from Limerick city centre, Castletroy, Annacotty, Dooradoyle, Raheen, Corbally and across the county, as well as from Shannon, Ennis and Nenagh. Wherever you're coming from, the M7 and Tipperary Road make us easy to reach, and parking at FIT 100 is straightforward.
Preparing for Your Blood Test
A few simple steps protect the quality of your results. Stay well hydrated the day before and the morning of your test, since hydration makes veins easier to find and the draw faster. Where fasting is required, your test page will say so, typically 8 to 12 hours with water allowed. Skip alcohol and hard training the evening before, as both can temporarily distort liver, muscle and inflammation markers, and take your usual medications unless you've been told otherwise.
On the morning itself: sleeves that roll up, booking confirmation to hand, and 15 minutes of your time. If needles make you uneasy, say so at check-in; the team will slow things down and keep you comfortable. With a 7:30am start, plenty of clients are tested, fed and at work before most GP surgeries open their phone lines.
Making Sense of Your Report
Your results show every biomarker against its healthy reference range in plain terms. Anything outside of range deserves a look, but not alarm. Sleep, dehydration, a cold or a heavy gym week can all push individual markers around temporarily, which is why a repeat test or a GP conversation is the right response to a single odd number, not worry.
The real power of testing comes from trends. Test once and you have a snapshot; test yearly and you can watch cholesterol, glucose, iron and hormones move over time, and act while changes are still small. Many of our Limerick regulars book the same week every year for exactly that reason. Curious what your bloods can and can't tell you? Our blog covers it honestly.
Don't put it off. Take control of your health and book your blood test in Limerick today.
