IVF & Fertility Blood Tests in Ireland
Starting IVF or fertility treatment involves a lot of blood tests: baseline hormones before you begin, ovarian reserve checks, cycle monitoring, pregnancy confirmation. Getting each one done quickly, without a GP appointment in between, makes a demanding process noticeably easier. The Health Lab provides IVF and fertility blood testing at clinics across Ireland, with no referral needed for our standard panels and most results back within 2 working days. Book online and have your bloods ready when your clinic needs them.
To be clear from the start: we don't provide IVF or fertility treatment ourselves. We're the testing partner, the people who take the sample, get it analysed through accredited laboratories, and return clear results you and your fertility clinic can act on. That's our entire job, and we do it well; over 7,000 users across Ireland already test with us.
Official Testing Partner to Unqlife Fertility
We're proud to be the blood testing partner for Unqlife, the fertility and IVF clinic, running four dedicated panels for their patients. If Unqlife has referred you for bloods, your panels are ready to book directly:
Unqlife Female Fertility Panel (€250). The complete female fertility work-up requested by the Unqlife team.
Unqlife Male Fertility Panel (€200). The male fertility panel covering the hormones that matter for treatment planning.
EPCS Panel 1 (€80). Full Blood Count and Progesterone, for EPCS patients.
EPCS Panel 2 (€120). Full Blood Count, Progesterone and Beta hCG, for EPCS patients.
These four panels are exclusively for patients referred by Unqlife. Book your panel, attend any of our clinics, and your results flow back to support your treatment without delay.
Fertility Blood Tests Anyone Can Book
Not an Unqlife patient? Every other fertility test we run is open to everyone, no referral needed. Whether you're preparing for IVF elsewhere, investigating before you commit to treatment, or simply want to understand your fertility, these are the tests to know:
AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) Blood Test (€90). The key measure of ovarian reserve, used to assess fertility potential, IVF suitability and PCOS-related concerns. Almost every IVF work-up starts here.
Fertility Health Blood Test (€200). Comprehensive fertility insights for men and women, covering the hormones and overall health markers that shape your options. Add AMH for €250 with our Fertility Health + AMH package.
Progesterone Blood Test (€45). Confirms ovulation and supports cycle monitoring, often requested at specific cycle days.
Beta hCG Blood Test (€80). Confirms and tracks early pregnancy, the test most people know as the two week wait bloods.
Hormone Health Blood Test (€75). A broader look at the hormones behind mood, energy and reproductive health.
Thyroid Function Test (€75). Thyroid issues are a common, fixable factor in fertility, and most clinics want it checked before treatment.
All of these are on our booking page. If your fertility clinic has handed you a list and you're not sure which of our tests match, send it to us and we'll map it for you.
Why Timing Matters in Fertility Testing
Fertility bloods are unusually time-sensitive. Some tests need a specific cycle day: day 3 bloods for baseline hormones, day 21 (or seven days before your expected period) for progesterone. Others, like Beta hCG, are counted in days from transfer or ovulation. Missing the window can mean waiting a full cycle to try again, which is exactly the delay treatment schedules can't afford.
This is where our model helps. With clinics running across Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Cork, Limerick and Tipperary, and Kildare open Monday to Friday, you can almost always find an appointment on the exact day your protocol requires. Check days and times for every location on our locations page.
Testing for Every Stage of the Journey
Fertility testing isn't one moment; it changes as your journey does. At the investigation stage, AMH, hormone profiles and thyroid checks build the picture that decides your options. During treatment, cycle-day bloods and monitoring panels keep your protocol on track. Around transfer and beyond, Beta hCG and progesterone confirm and support early pregnancy. And between cycles, general health panels like the Standard Blood Test make sure the rest of your body is ready for the demands treatment places on it.
Because our full menu sits in one place, you can cover every stage with a single provider: same clinics, same accredited labs, same clear report format your fertility team can compare across months. That consistency sounds small, but when clinicians are tracking trends across a treatment cycle, results measured the same way every time genuinely matter.
How It Works
Choose your test and book your slot online. Attend your nearest clinic, where a pharmacist- or nurse-led team takes your sample in a private room, to the highest clinical standards; allow 15 minutes for the visit. Your sample goes to our accredited lab partners the same day, and results come directly to you, most within 2 working days, in a clear report your fertility clinic can read at a glance. The full journey is on our how it works page.
Fasting is rarely needed for fertility bloods, but check your test page before booking, and follow any cycle-day instructions from your clinic exactly.
Support Between the Appointments
Fertility treatment can feel like a full-time job of appointments, and bloods shouldn't add stress to it. Our team handles fertility testing every week and understands what the results mean to the people waiting for them: appointments run on time, results move fast, and nobody has to explain their situation twice. If a result needs discussing with a professional and you'd like guidance beyond your clinic, our partners page links to doctors, nutritionists and dieticians we work with.
For background reading on hormones, cycles and what blood markers actually tell you, our blog covers it in plain language.
One Less Thing to Wait For
IVF involves enough waiting. Your bloods shouldn't join the queue. Book the test your protocol needs, get seen this week at a clinic near you, and have results in your hand within days. Book your fertility blood test today.
Do you provide IVF treatment?
No. The Health Lab is a blood testing service and the official testing partner to Unqlife fertility clinic. We carry out the blood tests your fertility treatment requires; treatment itself is provided by your fertility clinic.
What blood tests do I need before IVF?
Most clinics request a baseline hormone profile, AMH for ovarian reserve, thyroid function and infection screening, with cycle-day tests like day 3 hormones and day 21 progesterone during investigation. Your clinic sets the exact list, and we can map their list to our tests if you send it over.
Can I book fertility blood tests without a referral?
Yes, all our standard fertility tests, including AMH, Progesterone, Beta hCG and the Fertility Health panel, are open to everyone. Only the four Unqlife and EPCS panels are restricted to referred patients.
How fast are fertility blood test results?
Most results are returned within 2 working days, which matters when treatment timelines depend on them. Time-critical tests like Beta hCG are prioritised through our lab partners.
I need bloods on a specific cycle day. Can you accommodate that?
Yes. With six clinic locations and our Kildare clinic open Monday to Friday, you can book the exact day your protocol requires. Check clinic days on our locations page before planning your cycle tests.
How much does an AMH test cost in Ireland?
Our AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) Blood Test is €90, or €250 combined with our full Fertility Health panel. Prices are fixed, with no consultation or referral fees on top.
